One of the most important decisions to make as you begin planning your wedding is to decide on your colour theme. Once chosen your palette will help guide you with decisions on plenty of other décor elements, from florals and bridesmaid dresses to even the furniture you’ll use for your reception.

Continuing our series where we take a closer look at some of the classic wedding colour themes, this week we’re focusing on classic black & white.

Nothing exemplifies a timeless look quite like black and white. The two have gone hand in hand for years and continue to be a popular choice for contemporary weddings. You can go for a modern aesthetic or stick to something more moody or romantic. It’s all about adding contrast throughout your venue to create the most stunning look.

As always our top tip is to use Pinterest – when planning a wedding (or any event) it really is the best tool! Search for ‘black & white weddings’ and browse the hundreds of images that come up. If you have more of a defined style in mind add it to the search term, for example if you want to go more modern search for ‘black & white modern weddings’ or if you want something that is a bit more romantic search ‘romantic black & white weddings’. Don’t worry if you don’t know what style you want, keep the search quite genetic and once you’ve selected a few pins that really grab your eye and add them to your board you’ll notice a more defined concept starting to take shape.

Our Pinterest is a great place to start, we’ve curated a Black & White board that we continually add to – check it out here.
