We get asked a lot by our couples “do people still send RSVP cards?” and our answer is always yes! You can of course opt for a digital RSVP response these days but we’re fans of the printed format – obviously – and truly believe sending actual RSVP cards with your invitations helps to create the sense of occasion, and adds a touch of luxury.

It is also, of course, a very visual way to encourage your guests to actually respond to you. By adding an RSVP card, you are making it very clear that a reply is expected. Some guests might not know that they should be sending a formal reply, and some will simply forget unless there is an actual card sat on their kitchen table waiting to be posted.

What information should be included on a RSVP card?

The priority is to make sure your guests have a way of confirming whether they are able to attend or not and the date and time of the wedding should be mentioned again for clarity, together with the names of the invited guests.

Our RSVP cards can be chosen as a single-sided or double-sided print, and we can print menu choices for your guests on the reverse of the RSVP card allowing them to confirm their choices.

Can you print QR codes?

Yes! We know lots of couples are using a combination of traditional printed stationery as well as digital methods these days and we can easily print a QR code onto your RSVP cards allowing your guests to scan to easily find out all of the necessary details for your wedding.

We can also print details of your wedding website if you have one.

Should postage be included?

Including a postage stamp on the RSVP envelope is considered good etiquette and practically will make it simpler for your guests to reply, meaning they will more likely actually do so! Having to chase up who is or isn’t attending in the run up to your wedding isn’t something you want to be doing…

TOP TIP if you are inviting guests living overseas ask a trusted friend or family member living in the country to purchase the correct stamps for you.

What should the ‘please respond by…’ date be?

So you can get an accurate guest count far enough in advance of the wedding, to confirm to your venue, caterers etc, you want your “please respond by” date to be at least a month before the wedding. Most wedding venues, planners, caterers, etc. require a final guest count around two weeks before the wedding so this will give you a nice buffer for guests who might be slow returning their RSVP.

All of our invitations have matching RSVP cards available to order, in the traditional square style or the more modern postcard format.
