Craft Shop Invitations vs DIY Invitation Kits

I want to tell you about a bride. Let’s call her Sarah.

Like me, Sarah struggled to find what she really wanted with the budget she had.

Does that sound familiar?

I’m not surprised… those thoughts are in the minds of so many of the brides I’ve known. Including Sarah. So she decided to make her own invitations. But without any real guidance, she was a little lost. She went off to a well-known craft shop and spent a long time wandering around, not sure what would work best. In the end, she spent more than £60 on a guillotine, craft supplies, paper and decorations and went home to bring her vision to life.

A few days, and sticky fingers later, she surveyed her work… with dismay. Because what she’d made certainly didn’t match what she’d imagined – and there was no way Sarah could send these out to her guests. They simply weren’t good enough.

When I was planning my own wedding I had a similar disaster to Sarah – but unlike Sarah, I didn’t have much option, so I stuck with my naff stationery.

After the wedding, though, I decided to do something about it.

That’s when I began my journey into the world of wedding invitations. I’ve created a huge collection of pre-designed invitations which are incredibly simple to put together. All the card is pre-cut and scored, and everything is delivered to you in a kit – all you have to do is cut the ribbon, twine or lace to length.

Then all that’s left is incredibly simple assembly. I call this the half-way house of DIY – you get all the fun of making your own beautiful, bespoke wedding stationery – but without any of the mess, hassle and heartache of cards that don’t look as good as they should.

  • There’s no guillotining.
  • There’s no card scoring.
  • There’s no messy gluing.

A handmade stationer will be charging for their expertise, the designs they’ve created and their time. The professionals are extremely well prepared, and their creations look so perfect because they source the materials I’m sharing with you so you really won’t have to compromise on style or quality to save some pennies. I’m giving you the tools to design and make your own invites, exactly as you want them.

Believe me, they’ll look fabulous, you don’t need to be crafty to make my designs. Bring your friends together for the evening to help you, best leave the vino until you’ve finished though.

But don’t take my word for how simple it is… Here’s what one of my DIY Brides, Maxine Wilce, had to say

Just picked up the invites. They are amazing!!!!!!!!! The quality is superb and they will definitely set the tone for how we would like our day to be. Thank you so much for all of your help in ensuring the quality and details were perfect for us. Your service, customer skills and quality definitely makes this a superior product and I have already started recommending you to future Brides and Grooms!! I will definitely be back in contact with you to arrange our order of service as well. Thanks so very much.”
