We highlighted the bright and bold trend last year – click here to read the post – but it’s such an important trend we’re taking a closer look. Mood-boosting bright colours are going nowhere in 2023. Whether it be in fashion, home interiors, beauty…the bright and bold trend is everywhere!

Sometimes called ecstatic colors because they create a confident and happy impression choosing bright colours, whether it be a head to toe outfit, or a pop of colour for your invitation suite, gives a glimmer of hope and joy which everyone needs.

Green

From the ever popular olive shades to the fresher, bolder teal tones, green never goes out of fashion – take a look at all of our green invitations here – but specifically looking at the bright and bold trend, lime green was seen at all the major catwalks for 2023 and is being spotted popping up in the chicest of home interiors and on the high street, making it one to watch.

It’s a fun, zingy shade to keep in mind if you’re really wanting to stand out from the crowd with your invitations and décor.

Viva Magenta

Pantone’s colour of the year for 2023 is Viva Magenta which is a deep, pinkish-red shade. Described by Pantone as ‘powerful and empowering’, it’s a bold shade that makes a statement. It works well with multiple colours, turquoise for example or grey or navy blue. It also looks fabulous with tonal shades of purple, pink and blue.

Orange

Whilst rust and burnt orange shades prove popular all year round, particularly for the autumn/fall season, a bolder, brighter shade like a fiery orange is on trend for 2023. Combine it with neutrals such as cream or grey for an on trend but still chic combination. If you want to make a full on impact mix with a navy or purple.

Yellow

The ultimate sunshine colour yellow is a big colour trend for 2023 – and not just for summer! Prevalent on the hottest catwalks including pale lemon at Stella McCartney and more vibrant, lime yellow shades at Valentino and Versace. Mustard is another big shade for 2023, being driven by the resurgence of seventies style and fashion thanks in part to must-see shows like Daisy and the Six.

If you’re a bit scared of using too much colour a splash of yellow against a white, ivory or beige backdrop keeps things looking fresh and chic, or go for a pastel combination with yellow as the standout star.

Pink

First seen in 2022 the hot pink trend prevails into 2023. The electric-pink hue has dominated fashion for the past year, thanks to in the main the Barbiecore trend, part of the buzz the new Barbie movie is creating before its release later this year. Starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling it is one of the highly anticipated releases for summer.
