Minimalist Magic
Minimalist typography is having a moment this year, for invitations and on-the-day items like signs and table plans. The more simple fonts not only look clean and contemporary but they serve a practical purpose too, being easy to read and ensuring important information stands out clearly.
Vintage Trends
There’s been a big revival in traditional vintage colours and styles this year and all the experts – including ourselves – don’t see the demand waning anytime soon. Massively driven by everyone’s favourite Netflix obsession Bridgerton, popular colours include soft pinks, blues and light neutral colours like champagnes.
We’re also seeing warm, vintage hues like cream, dusty rose and burnt orange coming through as popular choices, creating a retro type of feel.
Inclusive Etiquette
It’s time to rethink any traditions that may feel outdated or exclusionary, for example only addressing married couples using the same last name, with the titles “Mr.” and “Mrs.” Keep in mind that many people choose to keep their own last name these days, and some people identify with the gender-neutral title “Mx.” Make sure you use up to date information when addressing your invitations so that all your guests feel respected and welcomed from the very first moment.
Eye-Catching Envelopes
We’re witnessing the rise of the envelope this year, with couples choosing statement colour envelopes as opposed to the more traditional, neutral styles. They know a coloured envelope will stand out on their guests doormat, creating excitement before they’ve even opened it reavealing the beautiful invitation suite. As well as choosing colour for their envelopes couples are elevating them further by adding patterned liners, seals and guest address printing. The envelope is becoming just as much of the statement piece as the actual invitation, and we are 100% on board!
The Bolder the Better
Bold colours are making a comeback this year whether it be just a pop of colour for your envelopes or or a full on riot of colour from start to finish including attire, stationery, flowers and décor. If bold colours are your favourite you should reflect that in your special day, starting with your stationery.
